PETS OF THE WEEK
TREVOR (Dog #101) – Are you looking for a fun loving companion, well that makes 2 of us; see how much we already have in common? I’m not just a pretty face either, I’ve got brains too, like already knowing how to sit, walking well on a leash, and I get along great with others - that’s why I always get picked to go on outings! If you need a lovable, easy-going, 3 year old neutered fella in your life, I’ll be perfect for you. I’m a happy Cattle Dog Mix that’s always smiling and up for anything. I’ve been waiting for a new family since I came to the shelter in February and have been spending my time hangin’ with my roommates, going on outings to the beach, and most of all daydreaming of the day I go home with YOU!
PUTI (Cat #55) – I know my leg looks a little funny in this picture, sadly it looks a little funny in real life too. How it got this way, who knows. All I can remember is that I was brought to the shelter with nerve damage in January and I could not walk. Since then MHS's vet staff has gotten me all fixed up, not only can I walk again, but my leg does not even give me problems anymore. Thanks to a lot of TLC it looks like I will be able to keep my leg, which is very exciting for me as I have learned to use it to scoop up my toys and play with them. I’m a very outgoing gal that likes to stay indoors and curl up with you on the couch. If you are looking to add a strong, independent lady to your home come down and meet me. I’m truly one in a million, and with all the cat adoption specials going on this summer you’re guaranteed to get a great deal!
GERARD (Dog #70) – Need a friend in your life with an upbeat can-do attitude? Well, I’m always bound to have a smile on my face; I like to make the most of life. I’m an upbeat fella that loves to brighten up everyone’s day, even if I have been waiting at the shelter since March. I’m not just cute, I’m pretty smart too. I already know sit, lay down, walk well on a leash, and am great in public (that’s why I get to go on doggie daytrips around the island!). I just went to the beach today and although the strong waves were not my favorite, digging in the sand and meeting all those new people was the BEST EVER! So, by now you must be wondering with all this talk of smiling why I look so serious in my picture, that’s because I’m trying to hypnotize you into taking me home with you…

WISH LIST
Please help us continue the critical programs and services we
provide for our community. We are facing serious financial challenges and need your help now more than ever before. This is because the economy over the past few years has affected Maui County's ability to fund the total amount needed to fulfill our animal management contract. MHS has been utilizing our own monies to 'fund the gap' in order to continue the services so important to our community.
Below are items that will greatly help us reduce our operating costs and do more for the animals. Please consider sending an extra donation or gifting an item or two from the list below. If you own a business or have special skills or services and can offer assistance for special projects, please call Lindsey at (808) 877-3680 ext 32. No gift is too small and every penny helps! Thank you so much for your continued support.
