Adoption Process First and foremost, we are looking for permanent, responsible and loving homes for our animals. Our knowledgeable staff and Adoption Counselor can help you make an informed selection, provide you with useful information on the animal(s) you've chosen, and assist you throughout the adoption process. Please take the time to read through our adoption policies and guidelines. You will be required to sign this form, both acknowledging and accepting the terms of the adoption. Once your application is submitted and reviewed by our staff, you may place a 24 hour pending on the animal you have selected. No pending may be placed on an animal without first submitting your application or before visiting with the animal you wish to adopt. During this time we may proceed by contacting your landlord if needed, and/or setting up your home inspection (primarily for dog adoptions); both steps are required to approve an adoption. As stated below, a dog-to-dog introduction must be set up before an adoption is approved. The entire adoption process, including mandatory spay/neuter, may take 24 hours or more, so you may not always be able to take your new pet home right away. Please note: As a general rule, we cannot hold animals for anyone. All adoptions will be handled on a first-come, first-serve basis, and the first properly qualified prospective home will get the pet. Approved applications are kept on file for six months. Applications must be filled out completely and accurately. Sorry, but incomplete applications cannot be processed.
