Pet Care: Puppies and Dogs
PUPPIES
Most puppies are born with parasites so an early check for parasites helps maintain a healthy puppy. Some puppies require deworming from as early as 2-3 weeks of age. Puppies are prone to many diseases, especially Parvo virus, an often deadly viral disease. It is vital that vaccinations are given following your veterinarians recommendations. These are usually started by 6-8 weeks of age.
Puppies Veterinary check usually include
- Immunizations
- Parasite check and/or worming
- Discuss Heartworm preventative
- Discuss when to schedule spay/neuter.
- Discuss proper diet, breed and behavior related questions
